Part I: Position Summary

Exterior Horticultural technicians are personable and have a good knowledge and understanding of plants and the care they need. They are responsible for taking care of the exterior plants at our clients throughout Philadelphia. Techs have consistent face-to-face interactions with our clients, so it’s important that you can sustain pleasant interactions and professional relationships.

Part II: Essential Duties

Responsibilities:

  • Deep understanding and knowledge of plants and their needs

  • Ability to ID and treat any plant-based pests or disease

  • Ability to be self-managed & self-motivated

  • Ability to communicate with administrative team, in a timely manner when needed

Requirements:

  • Horticultural experience preferred

  • Proactive, hard-working, and punctual

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Proper pruning and planting skills

  • Knowledge of seasonal garden maintenance routines

  • Willingness and ability to learn

  • Ability to drive a 14 ft truck is a plus

  • Valid driver’s license and SS#

  • Hardscaping and carpentry experience is a plus

  • Must be energetic, motivated, hardworking, honest, reliable, responsible and love working with plants.

  • Knowledge of Philadelphia’s Center City is a plus

  • Be comfortable working outdoors, even in the winter months.  

Part III: Education and Experience

  • Minimum high school diploma or the equivalent

  • 1 Year of Plant Maintenance Experience (preferred)

Part IV: Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Must have valid Driver’s License and be always in possession of it

  • Personal vehicle must be fully insured
