Floral Assistant/Delivery Driver
Position Overview:
The Floral Assistant/ Delivery Driver is responsible for carefully and safely packing and transporting all floral product produced at Hoffman Design Group successfully to our clients. This position is also responsible for supporting the design staff in processing flowers, creating arrangements, and assisting event setup .
Responsibilities Include:
· Pack and load floral arrangements weighing 3lbs to as much as 75lbs onto delivery vans using a cart while keeping them protected from severe climate
· Deliver floral arrangements as needed and place them in designated locations, as well as remove the old arrangement.
· Help process flowers when they arrive to our offices.
· Assist Head Floral Designer with creating arrangements.
· Clean and sweep design room.
· Assist with floral event setup and takedown.
· Part time position with opportunity for full time
Requirements:
· Must have a clean driving record
· Must have a valid Driver’s License and be in possession of it at all times
· Personal vehicle (if applicable) must be fully insured
· Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changes in daily schedule
· Must feel comfortable driving in the city and on highways
· Ability to prioritize deliveries and follow instructions outlined on paperwork
· Excellent personal skills when interacting with public and co-workers
· Available to work some weekends is a plus.
Horticultural Technician
Position Overview:
Horticultural technicians are personable and have a good knowledge and understanding of plants and the care they need. They are responsible for taking care of plants at our clients throughout Philadelphia. Techs have consistent face-to-face interactions with our clients, so it’s important that you are able to sustain pleasant interactions and professional relationships.
Responsibilities Include:
• Deep understanding and knowledge of plants and their needs
• Ability to ID and treat any plant-based pests or disease
• Ability to be self-managed & self-motivated
• Ability to communicate with administrative team, in a timely manner when needed
• Flexible availability is preferred, Monday - Friday, full or part-time.
Requirements:
• Horticultural experience preferred
• Proactive, hard-working, and punctual
• Excellent communication skills
• Proper pruning and planting skills
• Knowledge of seasonal garden maintenance routines
• Willingness and ability to learn
• Ability to drive a 14 ft truck is a plus
• Valid driver’s license and SS#
• Hardscaping and carpentry experience is a plus
• Must be energetic, motivated, hardworking, honest, reliable, responsible and love working with plants.
Landscape Installer
Position Overview:
The Landscape Installer is responsible for the installation, replacement, and maintenance of interior and exterior landscapes according to HDG standards. Installers will complete daily assignments based upon preplanned, scheduled work and client needs. The ability to handle a variety of tasks is essential for this role.
Responsibilities Include:
Complete daily assignments, utilizing appropriate materials and equipment
Communicate with client to ensure customer satisfaction
Ensure proper horticultural practices with plants, planting, and maintenance duties
Cover maintenance duties for Horticultural Specialists as needed (see Horticultural Specialist job description)
Knowledge of plant material, identification, and planting techniques
Assist with inventory control: monitor levels of moss, foam, Styrofoam, leaf shine, mulch
Daily horticultural reporting of actions taken during installation or maintenance duties
Daily communication of client feedback, job status, equipment problems, etc
Daily and weekly vehicle inspections for maintenance and cleanliness
Assist with pick up and drop off of all vehicles in need of maintenance/repair
Other duties may be assigned
Overtime offered at time and a half.
This position is full-time with benefits.

Stand and walk for extended periods of time
Sit and/or ride in vehicles for extended periods of time

Job Description:
The Design Consultant is someone who is experienced in both sales and design. The Design Consultant works closely with clients to create cutting edge designs in our full range of services such interior and urban exterior landscaping, floral design, and holiday displays. The range of these specific services may vary based on the scope of the client design. The Design Consultants coordinate with internal staff to ensure that their projects are installed and maintained properly, with maximum profitability and exceptional customer service.
Requirements:
Sales
Prospect for new business and develops leads
Produce sales results/revenue based upon pre-determined sales goals
Sell tropical plants, decorative containers, plant maintenance, seasonal color, living walls, moss walls, rooftop gardens, and many types of plant maintenance plans to businesses and organizations
Travel to potential/existing clients in local geographic region
Prepare proposals for potential/existing clients for full scope of services offered
Update and maintain client databases and CRM as needed
Prepare and send correspondence as needed to leads/prospects/clients
Project Management
Direct involvement in selection and purchasing of materials such as plants, containers, and related supplies as necessary, including completing the necessary POs
Provide operations department with necessary paperwork (i.e. proposal, stock requisition) for purchases, delivery, and installation of new projects
Project management to include participating and supervising installations when appropriate to ensure quality and efficiency as needed
Customer Care
Act as key liaison between Hoffman Design Group and customers
Maintain proactive relationships
Routinely visit job sites and resolve problems quickly
Maintain relationships with potential/existing clients through routine phone calls, emails, and personal visits
Qualifications:
Excellent interpersonal, negotiating, and sales skills
Strong organizational skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
A person who enjoys engaging in conversations, both on-line and off
Strong administrative and computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and facility with corporate CRM applications
Ability to work well under pressure and manage priorities with minimal supervision
An independent thinker and task master
An insistence on honesty, transparency and integrity
Plant knowledge is a plus, but not required.
